Getting Started Quickly with ANSYS CFX 18 Through Simple Examples
ISBN 978-3-658-38453-1 | 2022 | Springer | Author: Stefan Lecheler, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Bundeswehr University, Munich, Germany
Aim of this book
If you do not know anything about computational fluid dynamics (yet), this is the book for you. It is kept simple and understandable, at least from the author’s point of view. It is aimed at prospective engineers in mechanical engineering and similar fields of study who are already familiar with fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. Knowledge of numerical solution methods and in computer science is an advantage, but not mandatory.
The goals in detail are that you:
- understand the theory behind CFD programs (CFD = Computational Fluid Dynamics),
- know the most important terms and equations from the CFD area,
- know how commercial CFD programs such as ANSYS CFX work and be able to operate them,
- be able to assess the scope, critical points and results of CFD programs.
Computational Fluid Dynamics
Through Simple Examples
Development engineers must nowadays be proficient in the use of CFD (computational fluid dynamics) programs. Since even small input errors can have a major impact on the calculation result, these must be avoided at all costs.
This book aims to contribute to this and, in addition to the most important theoretical principles, above all to provide numerous tips and experiences relevant to practice.
